The Museum & Kiwi House is a registered Charitable Trust

Governed by a Board of 12 Trustees. The beneficiaries of the Trust are the citizens of Whangarei

Staff includes
• A Director
• Visitor Services Officer
• Operations Manager
• LEOTC Educator
• KiwiHouse Husbandry and Retail Officers
• Finance Administrator and Front of House Staff
• Resident Security Officer
• A Grounds Supervisor
Volunteers who work with collections, exhibitions, live days and education programmes.

Gerry Brackenbury - Chairman
Gerry was previously Communications Manager for Whangarei Area of DOC and has a wealth of knowledge on New Zealands native flora and fauna.

To acquire and care for collections with a natural and human history focus reflecting the interaction between natural and human history in Northland.

To make these collections accessible to our community through research, displays, special exhibitions and events, which have relevant, informative, educational, inspirational, enjoyable and fun.
